At the sky behind his head
And smiled.
Because someday, she too, would be free.
--
"I've always loved you.
I've always loved you."
I've always lied.
--
The clouds shifted,
Faded.
From her vision,
From the sky.
And she dreamt that she had gone with.
--
"Did you miss me?"
"As much as I missed American burgers."
Did I mention I've become a vegetarian?
--
She bit into the peach
And felt its sweetness fill her mouth,
Its juice drip down her chin.
Nothing is quite as satisfying as fruit murder.
