Tough love.

I am consistently disappointed by my own ineptitude and lack of miraculous upward trajectory into the realms of success, in which most of the hard work should occur, ideally, while I am asleep.

On the bright side, as the previous sentence reveals, my ability to articulate my emotions through the use of a variety of different sentence structures and a vast vocabulary has somehow improved while I have been busy being mediocre at most things that actually matter.
