The Promise Scholarship was the difference  between paying rent comfortably or panicking about it every month. It was the difference between being able to put down a security deposit for next year's house or not. It was the difference between being able to buy a ticket to go home for Christmas or not. It was the difference between being able to take a night off of work when things got just a little too overwhelming or not.
